Blankenberge - Hospitality industry seeks transferee

Not specified

West Flanders, Blankenberge

BLANKENBERGE/Hospitality Margot seeks transferee Margot (72) is leaving her well-run daytime business on the Grote Markt after five years. There is no transferee as of yet, and the owner doesn't want to rush into this. "My heart and soul are in this bar." She may be from Aalst, but Margot prefers not to hear the word "washed up. "Even when I was fifteen, I was here every week on the market with textiles. Blankenberge has become my new home," she says. Five years ago, she took over the business, formerly the Monte Leone. "I also used to do catering and wanted to give myself a new challenge five years ago. First I had my eye on a tavern in Leopoldstraat. When that didn't work out, I ended up at this establishment and I haven't regretted it for a moment. This has run well from day one," says Margot, noting that her business has a truly prime location. "Other assets are the large, sunny terrace and the meter-long bar. I myself have always worked exclusively with drinks here, but you could perfectly put snacks on the menu as well. The kitchen is just not that well equipped right now," said Margot, who at 72 finally wants to take some more time for herself. "I met someone a while ago, which has made me look at life differently. Time for the two of us to enjoy ourselves," Margot chimes in, willing to run with the new manager for a while first, if one is found. "Because taking over an existing business is not so obvious. I have built up a good clientele here in those five years and would regret it if that were to be lost. My heart and soul are in this business," she concludes.
